SMITH, Christina "Jean" (nee Sutherland) - Christina (Jean) Smith passed away peacefully in her 95th year at Sakura House with family by her side on Thursday October 27th, 2016. Loving mother to Mary (Henry) Zdzierak and the late Douglas Smith (2008). Dear mother-in-law of Diane Smith. Adored by her grandchildren Leanne (Geoff Dennis) Baird and, Steve (Jodi) Zdzierak, Christine (Josh) Leuszler, Colin Smith and Kimberley Smith. Great-grandmother to Robbie and Karlie Baird, Trevor and Janelle Zdzierak, Kaitlyn, Cole and Brynn (Sweetie Pie) Leuszler. Predeceased by her parents Robert J and Mayme Sutherland, husband Ross T. Smith, and infant son Robert Thomas. Jean was a longtime resident of Embro, co-founding Zorra Highland Buslines and Highland Tours with her husband Ross. She was a member of Knox United Church, belonged to the UCW, Rose Rebekah Lodge, Embro Friendship Club, and served on the North Embro Cemetery Board for many years. Friends were invited to meet with the family at the BROCK AND VISSER FUNERAL HOME , 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Sunday October 30th , 2016 from 1- 4 pm, and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Knox United Church Embro, 116 Kincardine, Zorra, on Tuesday November 1st , 2016 at 11 am with the Rev. Andrea Allin officiating. Interment at North Embro Cemetery.
