SOROCHAN, Roman (Ray) - Ray, in his 75th year, passed away at Sakura House, Woodstock, surrounded by his loving wife of 54 years, Marylin Sorochan (Kelly) and his children Leslie, Lisa, Rayna and Chris. Ray may be remembered as a supervisor at General Motors in Woodstock (parts department) for over thirty-six years. He loved music, ballroom dancing and all sports but moreover will be remembered for his volunteerism. Ray was also involved as a leader in C.O.R., Pre-Marriage courses and founder of Youth Ministry at St. Rita's Parish in Woodstock. Most of all he loved to garden and was one of the founders of the Tillsonburg Community Garden. He also worked in the Walmart Garden Centre just for the love of it. Some will remember Ray as a sales representative and co-owner with his wife, of Jewel International Home Mobility in both Tillsonburg and Simcoe. Much loved husband and best friend of Marylin; loving father of Leslie Sorochan (husband Christopher Ruland), of Woodstock and their children Sara, Grace (predeceased), Evelyn, and Tess; loving father of Lisa Sorochan (husband Frank Herman), of Woodstock and their daughter Phoebe; loving father of Rayna Bartlett (husband Bill Bartlett) of Owen Sound and children Emma and Ben; loving father of Christopher Sorochan of Tillsonburg and daughter Katelin. Relative and special friend of Vince and Pat Malloy; and Barry and Lorraine Kelly of Tillsonburg. Survived by his loving siblings; sister Natalie Dineen of Kitchener, and brother Jerry Sorochan of Thornhill. Ray's sense of humour, zest for life, and amazing smile will be missed by his nephews, nieces, numerous friends and extended family.
