STOTT, Diana Agnes Louise (née Nesbitt) - Diana passed away peacefully in the late evening of November 3rd, 2016 at London's University Hospital. She was born on January 12th, 1929 in Woodstock, Ontario to Montalieu and Ruth Nesbitt. Her only sibling was Wallace Nesbitt who was ten years her senior. Singing was Diana's way of expressing herself from her earliest years. Later on in her early twenties, after marrying Daniel Thompson of London, she completed her ARCT by majoring in singing at the Conservatory of Toronto. Around the same period in her life, Diana happily performed regularly for a Woodstock radio station with Dan, her husband, accompanying her on the piano. Shortly thereafter, upon moving to London, Diana embarked on her theatrical path as an impassioned singer and actress. She was noted for her remarkable stage presence performing on the Grand Theatre stage in close to ten musicals. Her two greatest joys were portraying Julie in "Showboat", and most especially, playing Anna in "The King and I". As well, Diana was an ardent choir member at St. Luke's Anglican Church in London for decades. She was a very devout Anglican with a truly philanthropic spirit. Travelling was a great fascination for Diana. After marrying her second husband, Clive Stott of Cardiff, Wales, she ventured back and forth across the Atlantic visiting his family in Cardiff frequently. During those excursions Diana would spend additional time in London, England heartily enjoying the theatre and culture flourishing there. Diana will be sorely missed by her elder daughter, Diana Ruth Ellinor Thompson-Hayman and her son-in-law Thomas, as well as Katie Young, her younger daughter and her son-in-law Paul. Monika Diana Andreetta, Diana's eldest grandchild along with her grandson-in-law Nicholas will deeply feel the loss of her powerful presence alongside her Rudorfer grandchildren, Ryan Robert, Meghann Ruth and Christian Wallace. Diana doted on her one and only great-grandchild Vittoria Diana Andretta who in turn was devoted to her great-grandmother. With much gratitude, thank you for the compassionate care provided by the staff at Highview Residence and Joan and the companions from At Your Service for Seniors. There will be a visitation on Wednesday between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at HARRIS FUNERAL HOME , 220 St. James St. at Richmond. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 10th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 1204 Richmond St. with a celebration of life reception following at Sunningdale Golf and Country Club, 465 Sunningdale Road West. Afterward there will be a private interment at the Anglican Cemetery in Woodstock for family members. Diana's favourite charities were those focusing on animals and children.
