HILL, Frederick "Fred" - Peacefully at Woodstock Hospital on Monday, December 26, 2016, Frederick Ronald Hill of Woodstock at the age of 84. Beloved husband and best friend of Elva Joan Hill (nee Near) for the past 59 years. Dear father of Brenda Davidson (Bruce) of Iron Bridge and Ronald Hill (Cheryl) of Brantford. Cherished Papa of granddaughters Holly Savoie (Yvan), Tamara Marcon (Josh), Amanda Vanrooyen (Eric) and Emily MaGratton (Derek). Great grandfather of Tyler & Caleb Vanrooyen, Rebekah-Mae & Noah MaGratton. Brother of Jean Chisnall of Woodstock and brother-in-law of Shirley (Bob) Neave and Joan Hill. Also, survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Ernie and Pheobe Hill (nee Wood), sisters Marion, Audrey and Clarice, brothers Ernie and Reginald, sister-in-law Evelyn Hill and brothers-in-law Wm. Vale, Robert Prestage, Joseph Chisnall and Allen Green. Fred was employed at McInnis Hardware for 25 years and with the Board of Education as a custodian at Broadway School and Victoria School for 16.5 years. The family will receive friends at the SMITH-LEROY FUNERAL HOME 69 Wellington St. N., Woodstock on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. A complete funeral service will take place on Thursday in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Stephen Hendry at 11 am. Interment will take place in the spring at the Anglican Cemetery.
