SURRIDGE, John W. - Passed away peacefully at Woodstock General hospital February 15, 2017. Born in 1936 in Kincardine, son of the late Joseph and Donna Surridge. He is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Roberta Surridge (Burns). Father of Shelly Foster; Sue Allcock (Rob); Shawn Surridge (Paula); and the late Christopher Surridge (Luci). Known affectionately to all close to him as Poppy. He was a brother to Ted and Lois Surridge; Jim and Grace Surridge; the late Frank (Fritz) and Carol Surridge; Florence and Bob Inkster; Donna Swan and the late Bill Swan. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Abbey; Jenny and Nisse; Jon and Rayna; Amanda and Nick; Samantha and Nate; and many nieces and nephews. A successful entrepreneur, many in the community know his business Classic Upholstering where he worked for over 35 years and made many friends and long time customers. A consummate professional with a big heart, he will be terribly missed. Cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony will take place at a later date.
