RAMSEYER, Oliver - Oliver Noah Ramseyer, 89, formerly of Tavistock, passed away peacefully at Greenwood Court, Stratford, with family by his side on Thursday, September 7, 2017. He was born at Tavistock on August 19, 1928 a son of the late Alvin and Mary Ann (Roth) Ramseyer. He was a salesman and District Manager of Agricultural Feed Companies for over thirty-five years with the Shur-Gain Division of Canada Packers (now Maple Leaf Foods) and Pioneer Hybrid Limited. He was one of the original founders and a director of Big "O" Plastics in Hensall, was a life member of Tavistock Lodge #609 A.F. & A.M., had served two terms on the Board of Directors of Tri-County Mennonite Homes and was a faithful member of Tavistock Mennonite Church. Oliver married the former Inez Gerber on June 9, 1951. She predeceased him on February 21, 2009. He was predeceased by his daughter, Bonnie Bender on January 14, 1997. He is survived by three daughters, Donna Ramseyer of Sarnia, Colleen and husband Stephen Zehr of Embro, Valerie and husband Rob Tamblyn of Georgetown; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four brothers, Melvin and wife Margaret Ramseyer, Donald and wife Bernice Ramseyer, Mayne and wife Shirley Ramseyer and Paul Ramseyer; three sisters, Helen McKenzie, Edith Schneider and Elaine Novak; sister-in-law, Carolyn Ramseyer; several "Gerber" brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his brother, Earl Ramseyer; brothers-in-law, Walter Zehr, John T. McKenzie, Percy Schneider; sister-in-law, Betty Lou Ramseyer and several "Gerber" brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Relatives and friends will be received in the FRANCIS FUNERAL HOME , 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Tavistock Mennonite Church on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Jim Brown will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th line.
