CULBERT, Roberta Jean - Passed away peacefully in her 79th year with her family by her side at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Predeceased by her loving husband Barry Culbert. Predeceased by her mother Margaret and husband Morris McMillan as well as brother-in-law Barry Butson. Jean will be greatly missed by her children; Darin Culbert, Julie (Larry) Baer and Jennifer Chesney. She was an adoring and proud Nana to nine grandchildren; Evan, Jade, Faith, Chase, Connor, Ashlyn, Logan, Heather and Heidi and a loving great grandma to Maysa. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Donna Butson, Karen (Wayne) Draper and her brothers Robert (Donna) and Joseph (Cheryl) Beechey. Jean was a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and sister-in-law to Mark Culbert. Jean loved her family and cherished any time spent with them. Her grandchildren will treasure the memories spent working together with their Nana on her imaginative crafts. She called Goderich her home for the majority of her life and will be fondly remembered by a long list of dear friends and neighbors. Her passion was for painting and she was an avid member of the Goderich Art Club. Jean was proud to have been the feature artist at this past summer’s art show. She spent many years travelling with the Goderich Travel Club and enjoyed her many adventures. Jean spent countless hours knitting and crocheting beautiful pieces and gifts. She was a Girl Guide leader for several years and volunteered endless hours at the previous Queen Elizabeth School for special needs students. Her thoughtful work and devotion to her family is the reflection of her character that will be dearly missed and remembered. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the McKay Centre for Seniors (10 Nelson Street East, Goderich) from 2 - 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canada Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society, Alexandra Marine and General Hospital or the charity of your choice.
