Gibb, James Willis (Died)

GIBB, James W. - James Willis Gibb, 91, formerly of Zorra Township, passed away peacefully with family by his side, in PeopleCare Tavistock on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. He was born at Stratford on November 15, 1927, a son of the late Wallace and Jean (Clark) Gibb. Jim grew up in Zorra Township where he lived a full and active life, farming, being involved in community life, community organizations, St. Andrew's United Church, Brooksdale and serving his community in several political positions. He married the former Una Annetta "Netta" Smith at Harrington on December 19, 1953. She predeceased him on October 17, 1973. He was also predeceased by his brother, Gordon Gibb, in Italy, during World War II. Jim is survived by his partner, Grace Dunlop; four children, Gordon Gibb, Valerie and Ronald Boyd, Brian Gibb and Jen Meyer, Gloria and Chris Pursel; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Gibb, Katelynn and David Muri, Michael Gibb, Cameron Boyd, Davis Pursel and Lauren Pursel; one great granddaughter, Lily Muri; his sister, Hazel Richardson. Relatives and friends will be received in the FRANCIS FUNERAL HOME , 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 10-10:45 a.m. where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. The Rev. Douglas Peck will officiate. Reception following. Interment in Knox Presbyterian Cemetery, Harrington will follow the reception.
