Passed away peacefully surrounded with the love of his family at Sakura House on Saturday, October 26, 2019, in his 89th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Madeline Cowell (Currie) of over 60 years. Loving father of Gord Cowell and his wife Kelly and Jeanne Sarra and her husband Libro. Cherished grandfather of Ashley, Natalie, and Jason. Will be greatly missed by his sister in law and special companion Dorothy Baskette. Dear brother of Grace and Norman Lemon, Joan and Bob Caffyn, and Allan (Pete) and Carol Cowell. He will be remembered by his in-laws; Marion Ellis, Doreen and Doug Nash, Barbara Currie, Jim Currie, and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother-in-laws Dave Ellis and Jake Baskette. He will also be fondly remembered as the Farmer Grandpa. Bob devoted his life to farming. He was a proud member of the Woodstock and Simcoe Chapters of the barbershop choruses for over 50 years and a member at West Oxford United Church. Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation at the BROCK AND VISSER FUNERAL HOME, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004), on Wednesday, October 30th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Service will be held in the chapel the following day on Thursday, October 31st at 11:00 am. A private family interment will take place after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the West Oxford United Church, V.O.N. Sakura House, or your charity of choice would be appreciated. Online condolences at www.brockandvisser.com.
