Peacefully, on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Hilltop Manor, Cambridge, ON in his 87th year, James Lindsay Archibald. Much beloved husband of the late Margaret (nee Moss) Archibald. Loving father of Lindsay and his wife Laurie, Peter and his wife Roxanne, and William and his recently wed wife Annabelle. Cherished by his grandchildren Meghan, Michelle, Natalie and Seann. Survived by his siblings Mary Lou Krestel and her husband John, Jane Midwood, and Lindsay Smith, and his sister-in-law Marilyn. Predeceased by parents Mary and Donald Archibald, daughter-in-law Rosemary Archibald (wife of William), brother John Archibald (husband of Marilyn), brother-in-law Fred Midwood (husband of Jane), and brother-in-law David Smith (husband of Lindsay). Jim grew up on and around Long Point Bay in Port Rowan, Ontario where he developed a passion for hunting, dogs and the company of good friends. He met Margaret in Delhi, Ontario during their high school years where she became his other life-time passion. Jim joined the Bank of Commerce, now CIBC, where he happily and diligently served many private and business clients, and was twice CIBCs top nationwide new loan manager. He will be fondly remembered by all his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and all the other children who will remember him for drawing ink tatoos of sailing ships on their arms and anchors on their belly buttons. Friends and family from Port Rowan, Dundalk, Norwich, and many other communities, will dearly remember and miss him for his good humour, loyalty, and friendship. The family wishes to thank all his caregivers at Woodstock Hospital and Hilltop Manor. Family and friends will be received at the ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020, on Sunday, November 3rd 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and Monday, November 4th, 2019 at the Norwich United Church, 80 Main Street West, Norwich, ON from 10-10:45 A.M. Funeral service will be held at the church at 11 A.M. Reverend Sydney Elias to officiate. A private family interment. Donations in memory of James may be made to the Norwich United Church or the Sakura House, would be appreciated.r belly buttons.
