Passed away at the Woodstock Hospital with his loving family by his side on Thursday, November 14, 2019, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Joyce (nee Salway) Wilks for over 66 years. Dear father of Terrie Wilks, Ron (Marion) Wilks, Debbie (Charles) Brush and Susan (Chris) Benbow. Loved grandfather of Jeff (Allison) Wilks, Katie Wilks, Vicki Wilks (Shawn Krafft), Andrea (Adam) West, Jacqueline (Kevin) Rumley, Melissa Benbow, Greg Benbow (April Andelfinger) and great grandfather to Ava and Brody Wilks, Aric and August West, Cordell and Cameron Marin, Caylynn and Taylor Krafft. Dear brother of William Wilks, Betty (Dan) Cumby, Dennis (Linda) Wilks, David (Heather) Wilks and Carol Verhoef and is survived by many extended family members and friends. Predeceased by his parents Tracy and Annie Wilks, by his brother Fred (Alice) Wilks, sister Norma (Jack) Keith, brother-in-law Jim Verhoef and sister-in-law Shirley Wilks. Over Bob's lifetime, he had many passions. Always one to keep busy, he enjoyed his days of bowling, horseshoes, fishing, camping, helping to form the Embro-West Zorra Optimist Club and the Zorra Highlanders Snowmobile Club. His love for gardening was apparent to anyone who visited our backyard. His love for woodworking and producing unique pieces was something he truly loved to do. A true family man who spent a great deal of quality time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was truly a role-model all of us. The family would like to thank the staff at the Woodstock Hospital for all the care and support that they showed. Friends are welcome to join the family at the BROCK AND VISSER FUNERAL HOME, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, from 6 to 8 pm and again on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, from 10 to 11 am where the complete memorial service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or Alzheimer Society of Oxford County would be appreciated.
