Passed away at Caressant Care, Woodstock on Monday December 30, 2019. Eleanor Maxine (nee Dick) Hart of RR# 3, Woodstock aged 74. Beloved wife of Graham Hart for over 50 years. Loved mother of Darren (Sara) Hart, Megan Hart, Jessica (Brad) Houle, and Jonathan Hart. Loving grandmother of Ella and Blake. Dear sister to Jim (Judy) Dick, Doris Noble and Mary (Alex) Cumming. Loving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Bruce Dick, and her parents Ruth and Kingsley Dick.

Eleanor graduated with degrees in Home Economics (University of Guelph) and Education (University of Toronto). Her teaching career included schools in West Africa (with C.U.S.O) and Ontario.

Eleanor was an active farm partner and bookkeeper for over 40 years with Lokoja Farm Ltd. She graduated in the first class of the Ontario Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program. As a board member with the Farm Credit Corporation, she continued to support agricultural advances throughout Canada.

Eleanor supported the United Church communities in Kent Bridge, Woodstock, and Embro in a variety of roles from bookkeeper to pianist. In addition, she was a member of the Braemar Women's Institute.

As an avid quilter she was a member of the Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre. As a director with the Embro Fair Board for many years, she took on various roles including organizing the dinner at the yearly Dinner Theatre.

Friends are welcome to join the family at the BROCK AND VISSER FUNERAL HOME, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday January 17, 2020 from 2:30 - 4:30 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service to celebrate Eleanor's life will be held at Knox United Church, Embro on Saturday at 11:00 am with Rev. Margaret Murray officiating and Rev. Bill VanderVeeken assisting. Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society Oxford County or C.U.S.O. (Canadian University Services Overseas) would be appreciated.
