Passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends on Tuesday February 25th, 2020 in her 56th year. Beloved wife and best friend of Ron Fraser for over 22 years. Dear mother of the late Michael Iorio (2019), Emily Iorio, Savannah Fraser, Darcie (Geoff) Lee, Aaron (Aoife) Fraser, and Blair Fraser. Cherished grandmother of Jared, Madeline, Eoghan and Maeve. Loving sister and lifelong friend of Adele (Walter) Taylor-Pick. Predeceased by her parents Eric and Lilian (nee Roll) Taylor. Elaina served with the Woodstock Police Services for over 31 years, with the last 13 years specifically in Domestic Abuse Services Division where she retired as Sergeant in 2017. Elaina was the first female hired by the Woodstock Police Service, and held numerous positions within the Police Service during her career. Elaina worked diligently to protect the rights of female victims and their children within the community, having in depth involvement with Domestic Abuse Services Oxford (DASO), Ingamo Homes, Family Violence Counselling, Victim Assistance Services Oxford County (VASOC), the Children's Aid Society, and the Domestic Assault Review Team Oxford. Elaina was respected provincially, for her knowledge and skills related to domestic violence procedures in Policing. Elaina was very proud when asked to be a member of the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Domestic Violence Coordinators' Committee, the provided direct input to the Provincial Government. Amongst other responsibilities, the Committee assisted with the revisions and the updating of Provincial Policing Standards with regard to Domestic Violence and developed Provincial Domestic Violence Training for Police Services in Ontario. Elaina, in a last request, asks that in support of her passion to end Domestic Violence, attendees to the visitation and Celebration of Life wear something purple. Purple being the symbolic colour to shine the light on women abuse. Friends are invited to join the family at the BROCK AND VISSER FUNERAL HOME, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday, February 27th, at 2:30 pm till 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Celebration of Life to honour Elaina will be held at Goff Hall located at the Woodstock and District Community Centre, 381 Finkle St., Woodstock on Friday, February 28th, at 11:00 am with Terri Granville officiating. Interment Saturday February 29th at 12 pm at the Fairview Mausoleum, Niagara Falls. As expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions to Ingamo Homes Inc.
