Van Wyk, Walter (Died)

Peacefully with family at his side, Walter Van Wyk, passed away at the Woodstock Hospital on Sunday, February 23, 2020 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Henny (Spriel) Van Wyk, of Norwich. Loving father of Jeff Van Wyk and friend Beth of Brantford, Deb and John DeBruyn of Salford and Diane and Al Bruce, of Woodstock. Cherished Grandpa/Opa to Brandon Van Wyk, Drew (Andrea), Karen, Julie, Adam, Kelly DeBruyn, Elizabeth, Murray, Ben and Janet Bruce. Walter was from a family of 11 and is survived by his brother Cor, and wife Dit of Holland. Walter was a member of Norwich Knox Presbyterian Church and was a long-time member of the morning coffee shop gang. He had many jobs, but his favorite, was being the caretaker at the Norwich High School, before his retirement. Family and friends will be received at the ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020, on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Monday, March 2, 2020 from 10-10:45 am. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Pastor Alan Dowber. Spring interment at the Norwich Cemetery. In memory of Walter, donations may be made to the Norwich Knox Presbyterian Church, will be appreciated.
