Relieved to be reunited with her beloved Husband Jack, and welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday February 24, 2020. Dearest Mom of Blake and his wife Carolyn. Cherished grandmother of Jordan. Beloved sister of Nancy Kean and her husband Verne, and Elinor Scott, and sister-in-law of Jim Richardson. Loved from afar, her grandchildren Jennifer, Jacob and Taylor. Survived also by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Jack Wood, her parents, Bill and Margaret Scott; brothers-in-law Leif Scott, Bill Heatherington and Glen Heatherington; sister-in-law Nettie Butcher. Betty was the secretary for the County of Oxford for more than thirty years. She was proud of her work and loved the people she worked with dearly. She was a lifetime Member of Oxford Centre United Church and the UCW. She worked tirelessly to produce "Snoopys Review" the Church newsletter for more than 4 decades. Betty possessed a boundless sense of kindness and generosity: once she knew your birthday, anniversary or other special date you were treated with a beautifully personalized card filled with love and good wishes. Betty's family is deeply grateful to the staff of Oxford Gardens, Scott Gould RN, the staff at Wildwood Care Centre and Dr. Jon Schiedel for ensuring that her journey was filled with love, compassion and dignity. Betty's life and legacy of love will be celebrated at a funeral service held in the chapel at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 10:30 am.
