ALYEA, George A.

Passed away peacefully at the farm with the love of his family surrounding him on Sunday March 15, 2020 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Margaret "Marg" L. (Nee Hampson) Alyea for nearly 60 years. Dear father of Denise (Ron) Shiell and Bill (Sherry) Alyea. Loved grandfather of Daniel (Crystal), Katie (Brock), Kyle, Justin (Kristen), Joshua and great grandfather of Haley, Scarlet, Liam, Olivia, Emily and Avery. Dear brother of Walter (Ferne) Alyea, late Howard (Eileen) Alyea, brother-in-law of Joe (Susan) Hampson, Wilma (Dennis) Ewald, late Bill (Betty) Hampson, and will always be remembered by his many nieces and nephews and will be missed by his beloved Belgians; Peach and Babe. George farmed in East Oxford his entire life. He volunteered with Christ Church Anglican Cemetery for over 67 years, was a past Charter Member of East Oxford/Oxford Centre Optimist Club, was a honorary member of SW Ontario Draft Horse Club and a lifelong member of Christ Church Anglican Oxford Centre. A private service will be held by the family. A public service to honour George's life will be held and announced later. Interment will take place in Christ Church Anglican Cemetery, Oxford Centre. If desired, memorial contributions to Juvenile Diabetes Association of Canada or Christ Church Anglican Oxford Centre would be appreciated and may be arranged through the BROCK AND VISSER FUNERAL HOME, Woodstock, 519-539-0004.
