Peacefully, at his residence in Princeton, Ontario, on June 26, 2020 Clarence Sloan passed away surrounded by his family. He was in his 96th year. Predeceased by his wife Doris Sloan (nee. Shipp). Cherished father of Tom (Lynn), John (Jen) and Mary Smith. Predeceased by his children Laura McCutcheon, Linda Ball (Tom), William Sloan (Lizzy) and stepdaughter Anne Tomlinson (Mel). Clarence will be dearly missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. He was a member of the 425 Alouette Bomber Squadron of the RCAF Bomber Command. He completed 46 missions during his military service. He recently had the privilege of attending his Squadron's 75th Anniversary held in Bagotville, QC. His stories of high altitude, low temperature, low fuel and finding their way home in blackout conditions will be missed. When questioned "Did you ever have trouble finding the airfield on the way back?" Clarney answered "Find the airfield??, H***, half the time we couldn't even find England!!!". Following his war service he worked as a teletypewriter operator for the railroad. He then worked for many years as a Truck Driver with Inter City Truck Lines and in 1986 he received the Grand Masters Award for safely operating a company vehicle for over 30 years. He loved the sound of his children's voices and kids playing.

Arrangements entrusted to the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL FUNERAL HOME. In accordance with Clarence's wishes, cremation has already taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later time. In Clarence's memory, donations to Friends of the Princeton Park would be appreciated by the family.Online condolences and donations may be made at
