Robert T. Fawcett

Birth: March 26, 1933

Death: August 10, 2020

On Monday August 10, 2020, Robert ‘Bob’ Fawcett lost his battle to cancer at the age of 87.

Bob was born on March 26, 1933 in Medford MA. He grew up in St. John, New Brunswick and in the late 80’s, moved to the Woodstock, Ontario area.

Bob was the youngest of ten siblings: Jennie, Doris, Walter, Betty, Hazel, Eva, Mildred, Flossie and Lena. Loving Father to five children, Bob joins his daughter, Allyson, and is survived by his four children, Robert (Nancy), Sheryl (Franco), Hugh (April) and Peter (Kim). Loving grandfather to ten grandchildren: Bobby, Kelly, Brodie, Jordan, Adam, Ashley, Sabrina, Malisa, Robert and Marcus. Bob was so proud to be a great grandfather to Cole, Preston, Noah, Lance, Cheyenne, Joey, Kennedy, Bentley, Cameron, Jackson, Kyle, Owen, Jacob, Leah, Brayden and Isabella. Adored Uncle of his many nieces and nephews.

Bob was an avid hunter for many years. “Poker Pops” was the star at the poker table. He loved to watch all sports and was an amateur golf player. Bob was a proud member of the Legion and the Navy Club and loved his league games! Known by all for his sense of humour, quick wit, generous heart, his kindness to others and his “many long stories”! He loved feeding the birds and ALL stray cats. He was the best “grand-puppy” sitter ever, Tux and Cash will miss him dearly.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to PeopleCare in Tavistock for the love and care our Dad received. Thank you for keeping him safe during these unprecedented times and for your care and support to us all, especially during the final hours.

Bob did not like anyone making a fuss over him, he would rather give than receive. His wishes were to have no service so to honour Bob’s character, we ask that those wish to consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Donations may be made directly, or by cheque through Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Avenue, Woodstock, Ontario N4S 3V8 (519-290-5575) entrusted with arrangements. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life is planned for a later date. Your messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared at www.wareingcremation.ca
