Passed away peacefully in the night, after a long adventure filled life, at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Eleanor, who has not left his side, and given him the absolute best care anyone could ever have received, past couple of years. Beloved Father of Bruce (Sheila), Dianne (Gary Davis), Brian (Shana), Brad (Cyndi). He created many special memories with his 12 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren as well, 2 Stepchildren, Darlene (Chris), Stewart (Betty) 5 Step Grandchildren and 13 Step Great-Grandchildren were blessed to have Al in their lives. Al was predeceased by his beloved Lorna (1987) and siblings Baby Alec, June, Cliff, Murray, George and Don, and Grandsons Matthew (2015), Jeffrey (1999 Infant). In 1967 Allen and Lorna moved their family to Burgessville from Woodstock to open Al's Sunoco, which later became Al's Tire the original store in the Tirecraft Ontario Chain of Stores. Al had hands the size of Baseball Mitts, changed tires for many years and loved being called upon for to do delivery's. There were very few people in the community that did not know who Big Al was. He loved to have fun, play cards with his many friends, and give his nurses, especially Suzanne a hard time. Friends and Family will be received at ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020, Tuesday, September 15, 2020, from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM. Current Provincial law and County Public Health enforces face mask/covering and social distancing MUST be adhered to while in the funeral home. A private family service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at the Burgessville Baptist Cemetery. This will also be recorded for viewing afterwards. A reception will be held afterwards, if you wish to attend please send a request to Christine@tirecraft.ca in order for us to follow COVID Protocol. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
