Peacefully passed from this earth into the arms of Jesus at the age of 91 in Woodstock, Ontario on Sunday, October 25, 2020. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years Marjorie and 4 children Rosemarie (Fred), Ronald (Shanon), Jane and Joan. He is survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Born in the Chatham area into a very large family that all worked hard on the farm. A strong work ethic carried into his adult years and it did not take long for him to demonstrate his unique ability of being a top-notch salesman and able to carry a conversation with anyone he met. It was also not uncommon for him to find something that needed repair - he saw the potential of making a profit with that item fixed, so to his workshop he would go to "putter".

He was involved in his church as a deacon, prayer warrior, with his wife leading the youth group and was one of the leaders in the Crusader program. His skill in "cooking awesome meals for a crowd" found him often in the kitchen at church group events. He loved God, his family, being outdoors, the cottage, the Toronto Maple Leaf's and fishing! There were many outings with the grandchildren to teach them the art of patiently waiting for that big fish. Oh the stories he would tell about the fun times he had with his group of friends when they all went on fishing trips.

Dad definitely walked the talk, being a man of faith and loving God with all his heart. He had a passion for sharing the love of Jesus with family, friends and strangers - praying with and encouraging them to give their lives to God and asking Him to guide their steps. He had a big heart and helping others, especially those in need, was a big part of who he was.

Dad, you will be missed, and you will always be remembered as a loving husband, terrific dad, fun loving grandpa and a man that loved and served God with all his heart.

Special thanks to our friends, Pastor Ray and Nathalie and our church family, Doctors and Nursing staff at Woodstock General Hospital, Brock and Visser Funeral Home for their support during this time.

Due to Covid, there will be specific protocols. The Celebration of Life will be held at New City Church, on Friday, October 30, at 2:30 p.m., following the visitation from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
