It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of this beautiful soul on Friday, November 13, 2020, at Sakura House, Woodstock, in her 60th year. She fought with all her might to win a difficult battle with lung cancer, so she could fulfill her duties as the best mom and grandma ever, as well as her dream of retiring and moving back to Poland.

She was a devoted mother of Kinga (George) and a beloved grandmother or 'Babcia' and 'Shia-shia' of Landyn, Logan, and Lukas, who were her pride and joy. It is important to add Ilona also left behind her highly emotional fur baby, Maya, who was her life companion but also headache for many years.

Ilona was a precious gift to her small family in Canada, whom she was so proud of, and who were her whole life as well as priority. She will continue being a part of their daily lives through memories and unique traditions.

Ilona was also a beloved mother of her son Bartek (Ewelina) who lives in Edinburgh, Scotland, whom she truly wished she had the chance to spend more time with. Ilona leaves behind many family members in Poland including, mother, Elzbieta, late father Zbigniew, sister Agnieszka (Filip), brother, Piotr (Beata), as well as nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A private service will be held by the family later. Cremation has taken place.

A special thank you to the staff and physicians of Sakura House, as well as all the members of her Palliative team, for your compassion, kindness, and loving care during this difficult time. Your support will never be forgotten. If desired, memorial contributions to VON Sakura House would be appreciated and may be arranged through the funeral home. Expressions of love and sympathy may be given at www.brockandvisser.comIf tears could build a stairway,

and memories a lane,

I'd walk right up to heaven,

and bring you home again

- Kinga
