Kyte, Shirlee P. (née Desmond) (Died)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom Shirlee of Woodstock on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in her 93rd year. Following a life well lived, she now joins the "love of her life" Harv (2015) to be together again. She was the loving mom to Garry (Comox, BC) and Sharilyn Lundy (late George) of Woodstock. Devoted grandmother to Lori Ann (Woodstock), Dave (Janette) of Sarnia, Gary (Fort McMurray, AB), Kevin (Sarnia) and Kristin (Tyler) Comox BC. She will also be missed by several great-grandchildren. Shirlee was born and raised in Woodstock daughter of Gord and Marie Desmond along with her only sister Faye Dunlop (Wayne) all deceased. Her two nieces Brenda and Melanie also predeceased her. She was mostly a stay at home Mom until her 2 kids were married. She then started her career of becoming an elementary school secretary with the now defunct Oxford County School Board. She loved all aspects of her duties and retired after 15 years when Harv decided to retire. No way was she going to let him all the fun. Selling their home in Woodstock they moved to Long Point where they had purchased a home in 1977, never dreaming they would live there for 15 summers and spending time in the winters for 18 years in their Florida mobile. Age and health beckoned them back to Woodstock where they golfed with friends, played cards, and enjoyed the Legion and Navy Club. Seeing our country from coast to coast and the U.S. from Alaska to Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, and several tropical islands made most of her dreams come true. Now she is on her last journey to join her beloved Harv. There will be no funeral or visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
