Katherine Jean Chesney of Woodstock, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2021 at Sakura House, Woodstock with family by her side. She was 94 years old. Katherine was born September 6, 1927 in Drumbo ON, to Bert and Katherine Cross. She married the love of her life Earle Chesney in 1946. He predeceased her in 2016. After graduating from high school Katherine was employed by the Bank of Montreal in Woodstock and then in Drumbo for 35 years. She worked at Currah Feed Mill in Innerkip for a number of years as well. Katherine and Earle lived on their family farm just outside of Innerkip for 70 years. Katherine was an expert at juggling work, farm duties and family responsibilities. She and Earle loved to collect antiques, travel in North America and Europe and dance at Lakeside most Saturday nights. They also enjoyed pumpkin growing and market gardening with their grandchildren. Katherine will be sadly missed by her son John Chesney and his wife Jane, her granddaughter Alison Chesney (Adam Lind), grandson Matthew Chesney and great-granddaughters Zoë Lind and Evie Lind who lovingly referred to her as GG. Katherine is survived by her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Helen Murray and Shirley and Bill Crosby. She will be remembered and missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends at Oxford Gardens. Katherine was predeceased by her sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jean and Earl Shoemaker and Reg Murray. The family has planned a private internment at Innerkip Cemetery followed by a private Celebration of Life.
