Passed away peacefully at Sakura House surrounded by family at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Nelly Porter for 54 years. Loving father of Corinne and Eric Hoekstra, Stephanie Porter and Steve Scott, David and Sumi Porter and Elizabeth Porter. Cherished Opa of Ian and Teah Hoekstra, Abbey Hoekstra and Spencer Dawe, Tyler and Samantha Scott. Great-grandpa (Opa) to Kylie Taverner and Blake Scott. Dear brother to Rosemary Porter. Brother-in-law to John DeBruyn, Ena DeBruyn and Joe Widdis, Paul DeBruyn and Richard and Moira DeBruyn. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended friends and family. Family and friends will be received at theSmith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow with a private family interment of ashes at a later date.
