Oliver, Thomas Clayton (Died)

Born on April 25, 1929, passed away in his 94th year, on October 5, 2022 at Telfer Place in Paris, Ontario after a long and productive life. He joins his beloved wife of 56 years, Janet Grace Oliver (nee. Laidlaw) (2015). Clayton will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his son, Jeff Oliver, his wife Karen of Chilliwack, B.C. and grandsons Steven and Bradley and his daughter, Mary Mordue, her husband Greig of Drumbo, and grandsons Jack and Cameron. He was predeceased by his sisters Jean Hutty (1966) and Muriel Stevenson (2021), his brothers Russell (2017) and Ken Oliver (2015), brother-in-law Don Laidlaw (2012) and their spouses. Clayton was blessed with an extended family of nieces and nephews, and he appreciated their phone calls, notes and visits. The family would like to thank the staff of Telfer Place and Dr. Nick Minos who provided kind and caring support during his recent illness. We would also like to thank the many Paris merchants and residents who assisted Dad as he dashed around town on his scooter and needed the occasional helping hand.

Friends will be welcomed at the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, Paris, Ontario on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Mason Service under the auspices of St. John's Lodge #82 will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday October 13, 2022 at 11 a.m. Telfer Place Chaplin Rev. Wayne Foster will officiate. Please feel free to wear a mask if you prefer to do so. In accordance with Clayton's wishes, cremation will follow the Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Paul's United Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
