LeGrice, Edith Isabella (Died)

Beloved mother and grandmother passed away on August 27, at Sakura House in Woodstock at the age of 85. Predeceased by her parents Ben and Edna LeGrice. Edith is survived by her three children, Doug Karn (Helen), Crystal Shannon (Troy), Dean Karn (Karen) and her six grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters Gwyneth Canfield (Stuart) and Joan Goegan (Victor) Edith was born April 6, 1937 in Woodstock. She was raised on the LeGrice family farm on the 10th line north of Woodstock, where she enjoyed working in the fields and driving the tractor. She had a keen interest in teaching and attended the Stratford Teachers college. She loved to teach and work with gifted children. Edith taught school at Southside Public School and Eastdale Public School in Woodstock in the 1960s.

In her later years Edith enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting. She loved learning and trying new things especially with computers and technology. Edith loved caring for her houseplants and enjoyed having flowers on her balcony each year. Donations can be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or VON Sakura House in Woodstock.
