Huggins, Jean (Died)

Mrs. Jean Huggins of Woodstock passed away peacefully at Woodstock General Hospital, lovingly surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 11, 2023 in her 90th year. Loving and devoted mother to Donnajean McLeod (Brian), and Nancy Marsden (Kevin). Cherished grandmother of Perry McLeod (Tambra), Laura Hansford (Nathan), Dan Alyea (Meaghan), Brendon Marsden (Alison), Adelle Marsden, and Loren Marsden. Doting great-grandma to Natalie, Landon, Leland, Ciara, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Everlie, Kellan, Case and Brynn. Treasured sister to Bob Woodrow (Marg), son-in-law Brad Aylea, sister- in-law Mary Ellen and brother-in-law Arthur. She will undoubtedly be missed by nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her husband Ralph Huggins, daughter Janet Alyea, brother Bill Woodrow, sisters Lorna Davey (Bill) and Glenna Stenning. So many friends will miss her smile and warm congeniality. Jean was a piano music teacher in the Oxford Centre area for over 70 years and the pianist/organist/choir director for her church for decades. She was a happy and enthusiastic volunteer for South Gate Centre as well as providing piano music for several nursing homes, and often playing for Chapel at the Woodstock General Hospital. She was always wanting to give a musical hand where she could to brighten up the days for others. Nothing meant more to Jean than her faith and family. Friends may call at the Arn-Locke Funeral Home, 45 Main Street West, Norwich (519-863-3020) for visitation on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Monday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Donations to the Kidney Foundation, The Cancer Society or the MS Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
