Passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on Monday, June 20, 2022 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Dafoe (1990). Cherished partner of Allan Gunn. Much loved by her sister Pat (late Don) Arsenault and her 2 children who she thought of as grandchildren. Devoted mother of Debbie (Jim) Wilks, Cathy (Carl) Zimmer, Doug (Edie) Dafoe, Marion (Rob) Shelhamer and Dan Dafoe. Lovingly remembered by her step- children Lee (Dan) Payne, Kim (John) Zettel, Karen (Kevin) McNab, Pam (Luis) Avalos and Tracey (Rolo) Alvarez. Adored grandmother of 15 and step-grandmother of 11. Dearly missed by her many great and great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her brother Jack Bright. Bertha is also survived by her special nieces and nephews and her jibber jabber cousins. Bertha worked at the Oxford County Library and also drove school buses for Scott Bus Lines. Cremation has taken place. In honour of Bertha's 90th birthday, a visitation will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Avenue Woodstock, ON (519-539-0004) with service to follow in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home (519-539-0004).
