It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Charles Arthur Stuart Little, age 87, Monday September 11, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at Woodingford Lodge, Orchard Lane in Woodstock.

Stuart was very proud of his children Anne Marie Pauli (Tim), Nancy Johnston and Susan Lake (Brad). The grandchildren brought happiness and joy to his life; Sarah Johnston (Mike Korevaar), David Johnston, (Melissa Mcintyre), Nickolas Pauli (Trish Want), Alexandra Lake and Jordan Lake (Lindsay Donovan).

Stuart is survived by brother-in-law David Doering and sisters-in-law Lesia Little, June Schmidt, Lila Ramseyer and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Ruth (Doering) Little (2021), his father Arthur Graham Little and mother Georgina Emily (Blackwall) Little, father and mother-in-law Nelson and Alma (Hohl) Doering, sister Anna Lou Little, brother John Graham Little, a baby brother, son-in-law Patrick Johnston, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Orval and Jane Mohr, Ken Schmidt, Robert Ramseyer, James and Marlene Doering, Rabert Ramseyer, Ruby Doering.

Stuart was born in Kirkland Lake on May 2, 1936. He enjoyed spending time in the bush with his grandfather, Walter Little going to the family lumber camps and sawmill. Summer months spent at the family cottage near Haileybury on beautiful Lake Temiskaming and later at his cottage on Lake Kenogami.

He attended KLCVI 1951-1953. Pickering College Newmarket 1953-56. Graduated from Waterloo Lutheran University in 1956 then Stratford Teacher's College in 1958. On November 8, 1958 he married his "special", angel Ruth and they had celebrated 62 wonderful years together.

Stuart started off his teaching career at Showers Corners SS#18, South Blenheim in a one room school house with 48 students Gr. 1-8. He taught there for 2 years. He moved on to Oxford Center SS#5 East Oxford, a two-room school house. Stuart was principal and senior teacher for Gr. 5-8 for 3 years. In 1964, Stuart moved to his third school, Victory Memorial School, VMS, in Ingersoll. He taught 26 years as a Gr. 8 teacher and his last 3 years was in Gr. 7. In 1993, Stuart retired from teaching after 34 years in the teaching profession.

He was very community minded and enjoyed volunteering his time to help others including Harris Heights Public School, Lions club, coaching teams, various positions in his teachers' union, the Historical Society and playing Santa Claus for many family gatherings and organizations.

He was a long-standing member of St. James church in Ingersoll. He served in various capacities in the church as Church Warden, Vestry Clerk, Board of Managers, Secretary Treasurer, Intermediate Sunday School Teacher, assisting in giving communion to the elderly and communion. A member of the Brotherhood of Anglican Churchmen (BAC) for 38 years.

The family would like to sincerely thank Woodingford Lodge Woodstock and their many nurses, PSW's and staff for the thoughtful care and peace of mind we had, that he was always well cared for in his home at Orchard Lane Visitation to be held on Wednesday September 20, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday September 21, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Brock and Visser Funeral Home (845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock 519-539-0004).
