EATON, Richard "Ric"

Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, Richard "RIC" Oran Eaton in his 84th year played his last hand. Loving husband of Dorothy (nee Hughes) for 63 years. Loving father of Kelly (Greg) White, Earl (Ann) Eaton, Travis (Kelly) Eaton, Penny (Cam) Pettigrew. Best Grandpa ever to Cody (Beckie), Gregory (Jenna), Nicki (Mike), Max (Sandy), Olivia (Frank), Colton and Sadie (Tyson). Cherished Great-Grandpa to Tucker, Nash, Nixon, Dax, Seth, Liam, Kohen and Jesse. Fondly remembered by nieces Kim Van Well, Robin Thibodeau, Tami Murray. Predeceased by his father Oran, mother Florence, sister Evelyn and nephew Larry. Ric led a very full life, retiring from Timber jack after 36 years, long time member of the Norwich Legion, Army & Navy Club in Simcoe, multiple dart leagues and past member of the Oxford Pigeon Flying Club. Whether you knew Ric for many years or had the chance encounter with him, Ric always left an impression of a bigger than life type of a guy. A big man with a caring heart, a commanding voice with the loudest laugh in the room. Ric's life could be best described as living life to its fullest and a man on a mission. Ric had many hobbies and was known for his dedication to each. His commitment to being a competitive dart player was obvious to anyone who stopped by the house for a visit. Ric was also an avid hunter who could often be found stalking the woods before the birds we're awake. Ric's pride and joy was his 1968 Mustang which he would proudly display when attending many of the local car shows. If Ric was found to be sitting, it was often at a card game. Ric loved his cards. Ric's activities also included fishing, gardening, hobby farming, cutting wood and riding his cherished Honda Goldwing all the way to California and once to Alaska and back. Ric was a one-of-a-kind person and will be sorely missed by anyone who knew him. Wherever you are Ric, I'm sure your "all in!" We love you pops!
