Peat, Jairus Lorne (Died)

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Hamilton General Hospital. Jairus Peat of RR#1 Bright in his 63rd year.

Beloved husband of Colleen (Epp) Peat who he married December 28, 1991. Loving son of Shirley (Bray) Peat and the late Lorne Peat (August 23, 2011) of RR#1 Bright. Dear brother of the late Jane (1997) and Janice Zarzycki of Waterloo. Son-in-law of Irene Epp and the late Wilfred Epp (2001) of New Hamburg and brother-in-law of Paul Epp & wife Dianne of Tavistock. Remembered by his nephews and nieces Brent (Michelle) and their children Connor and Brooklyn, Vincent (Taylor) and Jacalyn (Chris).

Jairus lived and farmed all of his life at RR#1 Bright. He served his community on the Bright Fire Department for 33 years. He was a member of the Ratho Presbyterian Church and the care taker of the Ratho Cemetery. In retirement Jairus enjoyed driving school bus for Sharpe Bus Lines .

A Celebration of Jairus's life will take place at the Tavistock Memorial Hall, 3 Adam St. Tavistock on Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 1-5 pm with food and refreshments provided. Burial took place in Ratho Cemetery.
