David William "Sam" Murray, of Innerkip, passed away peacefully at home on June 14, 2024, in his 70th year. Sam was a cherished brother to Brenda (Bruce) Arnott and Steve (Deb) Murray. He was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews, Becky (Kent), Jennifer (Zack), Mike, Travis (Brittany), Ratchel (Paul), and Mikayla, and a proud great-uncle to Owen. His life was also enriched by the companionship of his special friend Ellie Hardman and her family who will miss him dearly. Sam's extended family included friends, Chris "Bear" and Norm along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins, who will all hold his memory dear. He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Eileen Murray.

For over two decades, Sam was a dedicated employee at Whitelaw Automotive in Woodstock before retiring. His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for sports. An avid fan, Sam's loyalty to the Boston Red Sox and the New York Islanders was unwavering. He also enjoyed playing fastball for many years, where he was known for his competitive spirit and fair play. Family, friends and community were everything to Sam. He found happiness in those shared moments, whether it was spending time together visiting, helping or cheering on his favorite teams. His laughter and stories will be forever missed.

As we bid farewell to Sam, we ask you to reflect on your own memories as we celebrate a life lived with integrity, kindness, and a genuine love for those around him. His memory and spirit will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Thank you to everyone who provided support to Sam whether it was a visit, a phone call, or just a helping hand when needed. A special thank you to the VON and Parkwood Institute - London, for their support and care. Sam was so grateful to everyone.

The family would also like to thank the First Responders for the care they provided during this difficult time.

In keeping with Sam's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral. A private graveside service will take place on Friday, June 21, at the Innerkip Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to

Children's Hospital London Health Sciences Centre, Oncology Dept.,

or to the VON of Oxford
