Betty is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 65 years (married 63 years), William (Bill) Matthews. Betty will be deeply missed by her 4 children, Heather Roberts, David Matthews (Kathy Shelton), Tracey Matthews-Shipp (Mike) and Brian Matthews. Betty loved to spend time with her grandchildren, Ryan Roberts, Derek Roberts (Mariah), Tristan Matthews, Jen McArthur (Ryan), Katie McArthur (Scott) and Eli Matthews. Betty was blessed with a great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Roberts.

Born on January 24, 1941 to the late S. Stanley (2004) and Verda (2003) Whiteford in Ingersoll, Ontario. Betty is survived by her sisters, Donna Robillard (late Bob 2023) and Eleanor Edwards (Gerry) and now joins her sister Brenda Whiteford (2022) in eternal rest.

Some of Betty and Bill's most cherished memories were of their world travels. Betty was a devoted homemaker and a longtime member of the Church of the Epiphany, where her faith and dedication shone brightly. Betty's passion was singing. Betty belonged to many different singing groups throughout her life - Church Choir, London Sweet Adelines, Stratford Sweet Adelines and Ingersoll Choral Society. Betty's experience with Sweet Adelines enabled her to travel throughout Canada and the United States for competitions. Betty treasured those times.

For the last year, Betty was a well-known resident at Langdon Retirement Villa. Betty was known for her radiant smile. Betty loved playing Tile Rummy, Bingo and especially enjoyed working on Jig-Saw puzzles! Betty's presence was a comfort to many and her absence will be felt by all who knew her.

Friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, on Wednesday June 19 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and again at the Church of the Epiphany, 560 Dundas St., Woodstock, on Thursday morning, June 20 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Epiphany. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Betty's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Church of the Epiphany.
