May 3, 1945 – September 7, 2024

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jerome "Jerry" John Michaud at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Linda for 59 years. Proud and loving father of Kelly Douma (Troy) and Robyn Michaud. Cherished grandfather of Taylor Douma (Misha), Alec Douma (Zan), Peyton Turgeon, Damon Turgeon and great-grandchildren Arya, Stiles and Miri. Dear brother of Rick Michaud (Linda), Carlayne Baxter (Colin) and Anne Nault (Richard). Jerry is also survived by many nieces and 2 nephews. Predeceased by his father Jerome Michaud and step-mother Audrey, his mother Adelaide Pickering and step-father George. Jerry was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Langton, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tillsonburg and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 379 Port Rowan. He was a dedicated employee for Livingstons/TDS and Ontario Hydro for many years. Jerry was an avid hockey player and played for the Tillsonburg Jr. Mavericks, Tillsonburg Apollos, Tillsonburg Maroons, Tillsonburg Old Timers. He also played and coached baseball and enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing and playing cards at the Legion during his retirement in Port Rowan. Jerry's grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to him and he treasured every moment spent with them. In keeping with Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander's Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. with Words of Remembrance at 11:30 a.m. The Liturgical Service for Jerry will follow at 12 noon with Rev. Father Seejo John of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Royal Canadian Legion Branch #379 Port Rowan would be appreciated by the Michaud family.
