Dermo, Peter Bertram (Died)

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Peter Bertram Dermo, of Woodstock Ontario on September 19, 2024, at the age of 79 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 33 years, Linda (nee Stanley); children: Rick Dermo (Carol), Tracy Van Kalsbeek (Jason), Kelli Dennis (Jamie) and Steven Dermo; grandchildren: Jesse, Katelyn, Cassidy, Madylin, Noah, Ryanne and Alexandria; great-grandchildren: Clayton, Huntleigh and TJ; and sister Susan; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Peter was predeceased by his parents Louis and Vera, sisters Gloria and Barb and brothers Bob and Terry. While his life wasn't always easy, especially having battled cancer twice over the past 25 years, he will be remembered most for his unfailing positive outlook and offkey singing voice. A warm and friendly soul who enjoyed sharing stories and street directions, Peter loved to talk to anyone he met. From the cashiers at the grocery stores and pharmacies he frequented to the nurses and PSWs at Woodingford Lodge where Linda recently moved, he always had a smile, kind word and a pocket full of candies to brighten their day. Peter spent his career in sales (cars, furniture, watches, appliances etc.) and many will agree that he could sell honey to a bee. After retiring, he spent most of his time singing to Linda and spoiling his grandchildren.

A visitation (11:00 a.m.), ceremony (noon) and celebration of Peter's life (1:00 p.m.) will be held at Brock and Visser Funeral Home in Woodstock on Friday, September 27, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter's name to the Oxford Community Foundation at www.oxfordcommunityfoundation.org.
