Cook, Mary Helen (Died)

February 20, 1942 -- September 27, 2024

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Helen Cook (Sawtell) on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the age of 82. Mary is survived by her loving husband John cook of 60 years. Mother of Aveleigh Cook, Elizabeth Erb, Susan Turkalj.

Mother-in-law of Trevor Erb and Vince Turkalj.

Grandmother of Nicholas Erb (Meghan), Brooke Turkalj and Mathew Turkalj. Cat mom to Jesse and Max and many before them.

Sister of Dawn Rowell and Anne Sawtell. Sister-in-law to Ann Petz, John Rowell and Bob Watson.

Predeceased by her parents Marion and Bill Sawtell and in laws John and Jenny Cook.

Mary lived her life with grace, kindness and dignity. We will forever cherish the memory of the amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that she was. Her spirit will live on in all of us and we will hold her dearly in our hearts for eternity. We were all blessed to have her in our lives for as long as we did. She is now at peace and no longer struggling day to day. We are thankful she always knew how much she was loved by all of us.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life reception will take place Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. at Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home Ltd,. 69 Wellington Street, N, Woodstock, Ontario, N4S6P7.

In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Mary Cook can be made to the Oxford County Animal Rescue.
