In peaceful rest, Parnell "Lloyd" Alyea was called home to the Lord. Lloyd is survived by his wife Phyllis (nee Shipp), married for 68 years. Loving father of Brad Alyea, Nancy (Rob) Routenburg, Kathy (Dave) Richardson, Phil (Lorraine) Alyea and Barry (Kellie) Alyea. Proud grandfather of Dan (Meaghan) Alyea, Greg (Tanya) Routenburg, Matthew (Sam) Richardson, Todd (Jessica) Routenburg, Amanda Richardson, Kelly (Derek) Mudford, Taylor (Jason) Shivley, Kirsten Alyea, Jessica Alyea, Courtney (Sean) Richardson, Tyson Alyea, and 19 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brother Gerald (Jeanette) Alyea. He was predeceased by his parents Parnell and Helen Alyea and daughters-in-law, Janet (Huggins) Alyea and Anne (Durkin) Alyea. Lloyd was a dedicated farmer in Oxford County for 70 years. His greatest achievements were his faith, family and friends. The family extends gratitude to the staff at People Care, Tavistock. Their dedication to Lloyd in his final years provided comfort, compassion and support not only to Lloyd but also to those who loved him. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place on Thursday, October 31, 2024 with interment at Oxford Pioneer Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Woodstock General Hospital or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Personal condolences and memorial donations can be arranged online at www.brockandvisser.com

Lloyd's parting wishes were to share the following scriptures:

This I recall to mind, therefore I have confidence. It is of Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions never fail. They are renewed every morning; great is Thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion says my soul, therefore will I have confidence in Him. The Lord is good to those who wait for Him. For we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, and to those who are called according to a predetermined plan. He who spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up as a substitute for all of us, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. For of Him and through Him, and to Him are all things. To whom be glory forever and ever. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, we shall one day meet in Heaven.
