Zilke, Gary Gordan (Died)

ZILKE — Gary Gordan Zilke, 61, of R.R. # 2, Embro passed away suddenly at Woodstock General Hospital on Tuesday, January 2, 2007. He was born in Woodstock on November 3, 1945 a son of the late Daniel and Matilda (Borchert) Zilke. He had been a “Lead Hand” with the Township of Zorra as well as being a part time cash crop farmer for more than thirty years; he was a member of Brooksdale (St. Andrew’s) United Church where he had served as Clerk of Session and was currently serving as a Steward. Gary is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Wilker, whom he married at Sebastopol on October 17, 1969; one son, Jason Zilke and his girlfriend, Christine Graveline; one daughter, Laura Zilke and her boyfriend, Anwar Knight; two brothers, Allan and wife Lois Zilke, Ivan and wife Deborah Zilke; six sisters, Rita and husband Charles Cole, Doris and husband Alex Murray, Myrna Tolley, Lila and husband Tom Richardson, Artrude and husband Morely McGrath, Viola and husband Grant Curry; sisters-in-law, Maria Zilke and Susan Zilke; “Wilker” brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Glen and Carol Wilker, June Murray and fiancé Les Zehr, Helen and Norm Narancsik, Bob Wilker and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Dennis Zilke, Elmer Zilke and Wilfred Zilke and his brother-in-law, Ron Tolley. Relatives and friends will be received in the FRANCIS FUNERAL HOME, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Thursday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Janice Aicken will officiate. Interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sebastopol-Tavistock.
