HUGGINS – It is with deep sadness that the family of Edward George “Ed” Huggins announce his passing on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Woodstock General Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Dad was 46 days short of his 90th birthday. He was predeceased by his wife of almost 52 years, Marion, on May 8, 1998. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred (Ethyle), Burford; Jim (Ariel), Scotland; Joe, Brantford and Bernard (Marg), Pembroke. He is survived by one sister, Anne Marie Dukes (the late Dan) of Woodstock and one sister-in-law, Peg Huggins of Brantford. Loving father of Marilyn Stasik (George) of Exeter and Diane Huggins (Don Biesel) of Princeton. Cherished grandfather of Tammy Kotiuk (Jerry) and Sheri Kotiuk (Jamie) of Brantford, Jennifer Donaldson of Stratford and Geoffrey Stasik (Jana) of Zurich. Dad was a loving great grandfather of ten, Jerry-Matthew, Justin and Jordan Kotiuk, Ashly and Nicholas Kotiuk, Alyssa and Aidan Donaldson, and Alexandra, Mackenzie and Samantha Stasik. Dad served overseas during the Second World War, in the Elgin Regiment. He drove a truck for Mackay Fuels for many years and worked as a maintenance man at the County Home, Woodstock and Woodingford Lodge until his retirement. For over 50 years he has been “The Godfather” of Bayhaven Camp in Stokes Bay. He could always be seen with his constant companion, his cockatiel, Toby. Forever in our hearts. Friends will be received at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Friday, August 31, 2007 from 12 noon to 1:00 pm for a Service of Remembrance in the chapel at 1:00 pm. Cremation followed by interment later at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the V.O.N. Sakura House would be appreciated. Smith-LeRoy, (519) 537-3611.
