KENNEY - Peacefully at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, John Leonard Kenney, in his 91st year. Beloved husband for 68 years of Laurie (nee Caley). Dear father of Anne Paquette (Paul) of Cambridge, John Kenney (Martha) of Woodstock, and Margaret Manzer (Leo) of Wilmington, Delaware. Loving Grandpa of Ellen Reinhart (John), Gregory Paquette (Faith), Monique Paquette, Sonya Bramwell (Darrell), Suzette Moore (David), Joseph Kenney, Cathy Pié (Cory), Joan Bowles (Jeff) and Chad Manzer (Melissa). Lovingly remembered by 16 great grandchildren. Brother of Mary Mitchell (Frank) of Cambridge, and the late Clement, William and James. Brother-in-law of Grace Kenney of Hamilton and Mildred Kenney of Stoney Creek. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. John was a veteran of WWII with the Royal Canadian Navy, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 55, Woodstock, a longtime active parishioner of St. Rita’s Catholic Church, a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3515, and a past trustee of the Separate School Board. Friends will be received at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be said at the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. A Royal Canadian Legion service under the auspices of Branch 55, Woodstock will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 904 Dundas Street, Woodstock on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Richard Dales as celebrant. Interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
