Silcox, Rev. Canon Bertram Allenmore., B.A., D.D. - Passed away peacefully August 16, 2008 at H.D.G.H at the age of 94. Cherished husband and best friend of Irene and of the late Vera (1997). Beloved father of Ruth Mahon and husband Jamie of Brantford, Alice Silcox of Chatham, Paul Silcox and wife Pam of Cambridge, Mary Silcox of Hamilton, Elizabeth Chmielewski and late husband Marc of Toronto. Loving Gramps of Margaret and husband Tamlin, David and wife Clarinda, Paul and wife Krista, Emily, and Katie. Proud great grandfather of Sophie. Predeceased by brother Lance and sister Dorothy. Dear brother in law of Duncan Stanton and Agnes Silcox. Will be missed by various nieces and nephews. Ordained Deacon 1940, priested 1941 giving 54 years of ministry in the Dioceses of Huron, in the Brantford area from 1940-1945 and Windsor where he was Rector of St. Paul's Anglican Church from 1945 to 1984. He was Priest in Charge of St. George's, Walkerville from 1984 to 1994. He served on many Diocesan committees and community organizations. He was chaplain of the H.M.C.S. Hunter for 21 years. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed. Family will receive friends at the Morris Sutton Funeral Home, 68 Giles Blvd. E (Windsor, ON 519-254-8633) on Tuesday, August 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation will take place. Memorial Visitation will continue Wednesday, August 20 at St. George's Anglican Church (1949 Devonshire Road) from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Bishop Robert Bennett and Archdeacon Ronald Matthewman officiating. Interment to follow at Hillview Cemetery, Woodstock at 3:30 p.m. In kindness, donations may be made to Canterbury College or St. George's Anglican Church.
