SEARS (nee Deveau), Zita Marie - 1921-2008, Tillsonburg, Ontario (formerly of Salmon River, Digby County, Nova Scotia) in her 88th year. Mrs. Sears passed away in Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Thursday, September 4, 2008, following a lengthy illness. Born in West Pubnico, NS, she was the daughter of the late Laura F. d'Eon and Simeon Deveau. She was a former preschool teacher at CFB Petawawa, Ontario. She was the devoted wife of 53 years to the late Kenneth Melvin Sears. She is survived by her daughter Janice (London, ON); son Peter and wife Mary Jo (Woodstock, ON); daughter Theresa and husband Ron (Tillsonburg, ON); brother Gerard and wife Geraldine (Nova Scotia); sister-in-law Marge Deveau (Nova Scotia); step-sister Anne Marie and husband Ray Deveau (Nova Scotia); step-sister Gracie and husband Gerry Comeau (Nova Scotia); brother-in-law Robert (Reta) Sears (Woodstock); sisters-in-law Doris Sears (Nova Scotia), Marion Sears (New Brunswick); her 7 grandchildren: Krista, Karen (Matt) Daub, Pamela, Paul, Katy, Kevin (fiancée Mariolla Grab) and Jennifer (Chris) Baker, and her great-grandchildren Taylor and Griffen. She was also predeceased by her brothers Joseph Deveau and Benoit Deveau. Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Woodstock, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Verhoeve Funeral Home in Tillsonburg, Ontario.
