McKerral, Joseph Peter (Died)

McKERRAL - Joseph Peter McKerral passed away peacefully at Woodstock General Hospital on Friday, October 3, 2008 in his 62nd year. Joseph was the son of the late Leslie and Kathleen McKerral and was the beloved brother of Jean Van Damme, Gerald McKerral and his wife Diane, and Rosemary George and her husband Brian, all of Woodstock. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and their families. Joe had a great love for his church, family and friends. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and for many years a faithful altar server at daily Mass. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Special Olympics and worked at ARC Industries for many years. Since 2000 he has lived with his friends on Ortona Street where he had exceptional care and support. Joe touched the lives of many as he journeyed through life with a smile and compassion for others. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Doug Neal, the staff at WDDS, especially at Ortona and the nursing staff on 3 East for their care of Joe in so many thoughtful ways. Friends will be received at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers and rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 904 Dundas Street, Woodstock on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
