Rush - Peacefully in her sleep, Winnifred “Winnie” Blanche Rush passed away at her residence on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Clifford (1980). Survived by her daughter Wendy Hughes of Tillsonburg, sister Jean Glencross of Quebec, sisters-in-law Elsie Shelton of Woodstock, Eva Shelton of Tavistock. Grandmother to Shelley Eden and her husband Tony. Great grandmother to Alissia. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Clair Rush (1975), daughters Cheryl and Nancy Rush (1967), son-in-law Dale Hughes (1994), brothers Norman, Harold, Frank, Earl and Lloyd Shelton. Winnie was a crafty lady, a knitting fanatic, wonderful baker and avid reader. Winnie was a 50 year, Life Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Areme Chapter, Vienna, District 3, a member of the Bond Club of Bonds Corners and a member of the Straffordville United Church Women. Friends and neighbours will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519) 842-5221 on Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Order of the Eastern Star service will commence on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service for Winnie will be held in Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Henry Marrisen officiating. Interment in the Straffordville Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
