BARAN - At Woodstock General Hospital on Thursday, October 16, 2008, Walter Baran of Woodstock in his 73rd year. Father of Andrew Baran (Lynn) of Woodstock, Cindy Isaian (Joe) of Woodstock, Kathy Cousins (Sam) of Cambridge and Jean-Ann Godin (Jaddus) of Beresford, New Brunswick. Grandfather of Ian, Kyle, Ariel, Eric, Mathieu and great grand father of Brandon and Marisa. Brother of Ann Sokoloski of Paris. Predeceased by his wife Julia (nee Bodechon), his son Paul, and his brothers John Baran and Jerry Baran. Walter was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 55, Woodstock and the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association. Friends will be received at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Royal Canadian Legion service under auspices of Branch 55 will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 6:30 p.m. A private family service will be held followed by cremation with interment later at Burford Pioneer Cemetery.
