Hawkins, Laurie, Richard, Cassandra, Jordan - Laurie passed away peacefully at North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site, Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the age of 41. Laurie (née Gignac) was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Michael (40) and dearly loved children, Cassandra Jane (14) and Jordan Michael Hawkins (12), who passed away accidentally at their Woodstock residence, Friday, November 28, 2008. Laurie will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Ben and Donna Gignac, sister Tracey, niece, McKenna and brother Derek Gignac (wife Kim) and nieces, Haley and Hannah. Laurie was a loving person, very fair, kind and considerate to all. She will be sadly missed by everyone who’s life she touched. Richard will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Thomas and Deborah Hawkins, brother Tom Hawkins Jr. (wife Pam), nieces, Kayla and Kendra Hawkins, uncle Michael and aunt Donna, cousins, Robert, Kenny, Katherine, aunt Jane Dobbs (Rick), great uncle, Clarence, cousins Melinda and Keith Dobbs, cousins Shawn and Craig Jr. Predeceased by grandparents, Colene Hawkins (late Norman) and Mike and Olive Rathwell and uncle Craig Hawkins. Cassandra was a Grade 9 student at St. Mary's High School in Woodstock, where she was a member of the social justice club. She enjoyed figure skating, swimming and socializing with friends. Jordan was a student at St. Michael's Elementary school in Woodstock. He played hockey in the minor hockey association, was a Toronto Sun newspaper boy, played baseball, loved camping, swimming and fishing. There will be memorial visitation at the McGuinty Funeral Home, 591 Cassells St., North Bay, Ontario (1-705-472-8520), Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial mass will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption, Saturday at 11a.m. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to either the North Bay Fire Department or Woodstock Fire Department. Funds received will go towards the purchase of carbon monoxide detectors and will be distributed by the fire departments. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to McGuinty Funeral Home.
