BUCHAN, Martin MacGregor - It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Martin Buchan of Tillsonburg announce his passing at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Beloved husband of seven years to his wife and best friend Julia Buchan (nee: Bain). Dear father of Martin (Diane Myers) Buchan of Courtland; Tami (Patrick Welch) Walker of Woodstock; Terry Mayos of Tillsonburg; Carrie (Tony Moxey) Mayos of Kitchener; Jason (Mandy) Mayos of Tillsonburg. Cherished grandfather of Lacey, Brady, Natasha, Kay-Lynn, Tyler, Brennan, Alexandra, Dylan, Asacia, and Cody. Dear brother of Sandy (Cindy) Buchan of Cambridge, Nova Scotia, and brother in law of Marion Buchan of Cambridge, Nova Scotia. Also, survived by nephews Shawn, Shane, Robert, Ian, James, and niece Chrissy. Martin was predeceased by his brother Gerald William Buchan (Jan. 2004). Martin was an 18 year employee of Cami, and before that was the owner of the Buchaneer Restaurant of Burgessville from 1977 until 1991. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing. He was one of the few in his family who was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf's Fan. He was a guy who constantly was tinkering, and always building, and renovating things around his home. He was a member of the Road Rebels Car Club in Burgessville in the early 60's. The family will receive friends, and neighbours at Ostrander's Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell St. Tillsonburg (519) 842-5221 on Monday, January 5, 2008 from 1 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Pastor Ted Smith officiating. Cremation to follow with interment in Tillsonburg Cemetery. At the family's request memorial donations (payable by cheque) may be made to a charity of your choice.
