CAREY - Verda Genevieve (Wettlaufer) Verda, born in 1928, passed away peacefully at Leisureworld-Oxford Nursing Home, Ingersoll on January 5, 2009. Beloved wife for 60 years of the late Donald Carey (2008). Much loved and sadly missed by her children, Brian and wife Kathryn of London, Bradley residing in B.C., Broderick and wife Catherine, Barton and wife Esther all of Ingersoll, Debbie Lynn and husband Max of Glencoe. Lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Survived by her brother Harold Wettlaufer of Mitchell. Predeceased by infant children Barbara and Kenneth, by her parents Ezra and Barbara Wettlaufer, sister Peg and brothers Lloyd, Wayne, Shorty and Lynn. Verda made a loving home for her family no matter where they lived. She enjoyed vacations at Sauble Beach and in later years at their trailer in Wiarton on Georgian Bay. She was a small person with a big heart. The family appreciates the care provided by all of the staff at Leisureworld. Family and friends will be received the MCBEATH-DYNES FUNERAL HOME, 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Verda are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society (cheques accepted).
