STOAKLEY, Charles Lawrence - Peacefully with his family by his side at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 6, 2009, Lawrence Stoakley of Mt. Elgin in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Ruth Stoakley (nee Kern) (2005). Loved father of Jim (Ginny) of Norwich, Richard (Caroline) of Mt. Elgin, Louise Nevill of Mt. Elgin, Shellie Staples of Ingersoll. Cherished grandfather of Tim, Tom, Mary, Amanda, Charlie, A.J., Basil, J.J. and Alisha. Great grandfather of Alyssa, MacKenzie, Sherry, Janneke and Emma. Dear brother of Ariel McClintock of Norwich and brother-in-law of Robert (Alice) Kern of Woodstock, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Robert and brother Gordon. Lawrence was a lifelong member of Mt. Elgin United Church, Dereham Lodge #624 A.F. &A.M., representative of the Oxford County Board of Education, Former Manager of the Mt. Elgin Pork Assembly Yard. He was also involved with the Mt. Elgin Cemetery for over 50 years. Friends will be received at the MCBEATH-DYNES FUNERAL HOME 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Lynn Allin officiating. Interment Mt. Elgin Cemetery. Donations to the charity of your choice (cheques accepted). A Masonic Lodge Service under the auspices of Dereham Lodge #624 A.F. & A.M. will be held at the funeral home Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.
