VanAlphen (Schreurs), Nellie – Peacefully, surrounded by her children on Friday, May 8, 2009 in her 81st year at Alexandra Hospital. A wonderful mother to, Mary (Gary) Garton, Frances (Jim) Catton, Trudie (Bill) Wall, Josie (Duane) Wiseley, Margaret (Mike) Kelly, Frank (Teresa) Schreurs, John (Mary) VanAlphen, Martin (Linda) VanAlphen, Joanna (Ron) Granville, Cathy (Kirk) Smith. Nellie was a proud Oma to, James (Kerry), Glenn, Neil Elliot, Genessa, Andrea, Jason(MaryAnn), Tim, Willum, Jacob, Kathleen (Andrew), Peter, Gregory, Laura, Sean, Kelsey (Katrina), John, Elizabeth, Clayton, Mandy and her great grandchildren Hailey, Bryce, Savannah, Liam and Kara. Survived by sister Marie Klumpkens, brothers Peter (Kathy) Slykerman, Jack (Rita) Slykerman, sister –in-law Lucy Slykerman also two brothers and four sisters in Holland, as well as Schreurs, VanAlphen family in Holland. Predeceased by her husbands William Schreurs (1964), Frank VanAlphen (1992), granddaughter Amy Garton (1998), brothers Gerry Slykerman (1980) and Thys Slykerman (2008).She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland. Nellie was a devoted wife, mom, oma and friend. Friends will be received at the MCBEATH-DYNES FUNERAL HOME 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm.Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday at 11 am with interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Parish Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 3:30 pm. Donations to the Alexandra Hospital, Children’s Wish Foundation, IDCI Peace Garden (cheques accepted) would be appreciated.
